RPGrinders EP 757 - Who Wants to Play in the Garden of Sinners?
Thursday Sep 14, 2023
Thursday Sep 14, 2023
In this episode of RPGrinders, the crew has some light news to get through, with the highlight being that a Yggdra Union collection bundle has been announced. No word on a Western release but one can hope(or hope that English support is on the cart at least). Frank reviews Exists and Mine Games while Eric reviews the first season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece. For the Stinkos, a Japanese Let's Player gets a way too harsh sentence, and Frank has PS5 issues. Also, the Ohio GOP continues to suck major ass. At least for the Sweetos, Frank decks out their car. Afterward, the second round of the tourney to determine the greatest mascot ever is on the docket! Who will carry on? Be sure to tune in to find out, and then maybe listen to the show live on Fridays at 7 PM EST, on Twitch/Youtube!

RPGrinders EP 756 - Hamburger Handy
Monday Sep 04, 2023
Monday Sep 04, 2023
Labor Day has arrived, which means the unofficial end of summer. For gamers the beginning of fall means only one thing, some of the 2023's biggest releases are almost upon us! Even more important than that news is the start of a brand-new Halloween influenced tournament!
We promised release dates, and we have several going all the way to November. For those who are not willing to wait, Gunbrella is releasing this month. For those who looking for something to do on a cold wet day in October, can look forward to Long Gone Days and the remake of Front Mission 2. And for the those who like to get their holiday shopping done early, November sees several releases, including the holiday themed Ebenezer and the Invisible World.
On very rare occasions do the Grinders get to all review a movie together. Although they have their own reviews, the Grinders all saw The Flash. Is it the worst superhero movie of the year, the decade, or all existence? Or maybe it was fantastic? Besides the Flash, Frank also reviewed some horror movies and Eric reviewed the classic Jurassic Park 3-D.
It isn't all fun and games for the Grinders as they have a long list of Stinkos. DC fans are still mourning the loss of beloved Kevin Conroy, only to be hit with the devastating news that the massively talented Arleen Sorkin has died. It was also sad news for gameshow fans as the legendary Bob Barker has also died. Adding to the tragedy, the Grinders also address a couple of mental health related shootings.
To counteract the sadness of the Stinkos, the Grinders have several Sweetos to bring up the mood! They are all good, but they pale in comparison to Frank's ultimate Sweeto, his brand-new car!
Even better news than getting a new car is a brand-new tournament! With Halloween right around the corner, the Grinders made a list of a popular costume choice: the product mascot! 64 of the best consumer mascots are about to square off to determine who is rightfully the greatest mascot of them all!
With a new tournament comes vicious new rumors, like these: I heard it through the grapevine that the California Raisins hate chocolate in a thin candy shell. Mr. Peanut personally blames the Scrubbing Bubbles for his need to use a monocle. Smokey the Bear and Morris the Cat used to be great friends, until they both fell in love with Lamb Chop and began a vicious rivalry. Elves are constantly at war with other factions of elves, and none hate each other more that the tree dwelling Keeblers and the pantry living Snap, Crackle, and Pop. The Crash Test Dummies need a new airbag, and they have volunteered Twinkie the Kid. Spudz McKenzie has a new furry chew toy that just keeps going and going and going and going and.....
With unofficial fall here and real fall just a few weeks away, we will have less sunlight, colder weather, and more rain. Perfect weather to be a gamer!
I'm confused. Can anyone explain to me why Sony made a fat Batarang?
A Fatarang, so to speak.

RPGrinders EP 754 - Dude, When’s My Car?
Friday Aug 25, 2023
Friday Aug 25, 2023
Frank is still waiting on his new car in this episode of rPGrinders. There's a small amount of news, with the biggest highlight being that Titan Quest now is getting a sequel. Afterward, Frank reviews Heart of Stone. The Stinkos are typically nothing new, but now sports organizations are joining in on the anti-transgender train with Trans women being barred from Chess of all things. At least Frank's car is coming sooner rather than later. But with the Stinkos and Sweetos out of the way, it's time to resume the tourney for the best cereal of all time! Which cereal will beat which in round 3? be sure to listen, and try to make the live shows for all the details, Fridays at 7 PM EST on Twitch/Youtube!

RPGrinders EP 753 - RPBoobies
Saturday Aug 12, 2023
Saturday Aug 12, 2023
It's hot as fuck outside but the Grinders can take the heat! The RPgrinders are back with another episode of steaming goodness. This week they take on some of the hottest topics in the country, like library book bans, wildfires, political corruption and boobs. Lots and lots of boobs. What could be hotter than breasts? NOTHING!
With the fall season right around the corner, game releases are starting to heat up! Games like Untamed Tactics and Wrestling Quest will be out by the end of August. Just a couple weeks before Autumn will also the release of the next mobile Final Fantasy game, Ever Crisis. For anyone willing to wait longer, they can look forward to the PC release of Deathbound and the unknown system release of Corpse Party 2. Seriously, they didn't tell us anything about the hardware we need to play the game.
Eric strapped on his heat-resistant spy gear for this week's reviews. Not one Mission Impossible, not two Mission Impossible movies, because he reviews the first two Mission Impossible movies, and the most recent film Dead Reckoning Part 1! How do Ethan Hunt's early escapades compare to the most current Mission Impossible sequels? How do the first 2 hold up by today's standards?
Just when the temperature was beginning to cool down, the Grinders moved on to everyone's favorite segment The Stinko of the Week. Talks about wildfires and crooked Ohio politicians make Break's blood boil. Things really begin to heat up between chat and the hosts as there was a lot of disagreement over some of the country's hottest topics. The FBI killing of a disabled man making death threats and the banning of books in libraries. The chatters and hosts all see the situations from different angles. Who is wrong? Who is right? As long as we learn to get along is all that should matter.
Even the Stinkos couldn't prepare the Grinders for the next upcoming battle, the second round of the Greatest Cereal in the World tournament! The heat is really on now. Only 32 cereals are left but only 16 can go on to next week. Which cereal's flames of hope will be washed away like spoiled milk down the drain? Frosted Flakes are one of the country's most popular cereals, but does it taste better than Apple Jacks? Will a Lucky leprechaun give Lucky Charms what it needs to go marshmallow to marshmallow against Count Chocula? Which cereal requires the most sugar just to be edible, is it Total, Rice Crispies, or Corn Chex? Which artificially flavored fruit cereal will survive, the Flinstone's favorite or the brand that hates silly rabbits? After losing Choclate Life will Break lose his Life and his Cinnamon Life? How many more lives does he have? He is running through them quicker than potato salad left in the sun will run through a human digestive system.
If you don't get to see the show live, you miss out on a lot of chat room shenanigans. Boobs, book bans, and boxes of cereal have lit the fires under chatters. Sometimes there is friction. Sometimes there are heated arguments. Sometimes they are given a warm reception. No matter what the topic, no subject is too hot for the Grinders!
My Childhood Friend is a Slutty School Teacher. Does she tutor adults?
"They aren't as cookie as they could be."

RPGrinders EP 751 - No, Aliens are not in Your Toilet
Friday Aug 04, 2023
Friday Aug 04, 2023
It's that time again for politicians to make ridiculous claims and once again distract the public while democracy continues to be murdered. But despite all of that, the crew has other news and stuff to talk about before broaching that subject. Like the fact that Ys and The Legend of Heroes series are getting tabletop games. After the news, Eric reviews Barbie and Secret Invasion, while Frank reviews Something Wrong with the Children. Afterwards, the stinkos are about the usual, but this time we mourn the loss of Sinead O'Connor (Shuhada Sadaqat). But at least the Sweetos has Frank getting ever closer to getting his new car! And finally, before tourneys plague us again for a month, there's Free For All discussion on Aliens and whether Game Pass is ultimately a bad thing for Indies, as the delisting of OMORI on the Xbox suggests. If you want to hear the show live, be sure to tune in on Twitch Fridays at 7 PM EST!

RPGrinders EP 750 - AT & T and A
Saturday Jul 22, 2023
Saturday Jul 22, 2023
It's the middle of summer on this scorching mud ball, but even record high temperatures are nothing compared to the extreme heat of the RPGrinders! We are coming in HOT and there is no cooling down in this jam packed but shorter episode. Red hot reviews, flaring racial tensions, and a burning passion for Frank's new toy are just some of today's conversations.
The planet may be heating up and the future make look dim. At least you can look forward to some upcoming games, while you wait out the apocalypse with a window airconditioner. The cooler months of fall will bring us Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and Caligula Effect 2. While you wait for the sun to stop punishing the Earth, why not check out the new release Farsiders on PC?
As a complete shock and surprise to NO ONE, Xbox Live is about to die. Don't blame the heat for this death. We all knew it was coming. Microsoft cared as much about Xbox Live as the American government cares about climate change.
Stay inside. Turn out the lights. Turn up the airconditioner. Enjoy some good movies and television shows while protecting yourself from the extreme heat! Quicksand and Werewolves Within will keep you cool with a chill down your spine. If horror isn't your thing, try the stone-cold comedy series Schitt's Creek.
The planet may be suffering from extreme heat but nothing is hotter than the anger of the Stinkoes! Global warming is definitely a Stinko but it isn't the only one making the Grinders hot under the collar. People that willing upgrade their mufflers to the annoyance of everyone around, really tans our hides. Racist politicians erasing African American history and sugar-coating slavery. Make no mistake, there is NOTHING worse than slavery despite what Republicans want children to know. Florida isn't the only state with blatantly racist politicians. The Democrats have their own bigoted 3 letter Jr problem. I have heard a lot of crazy things from people like MTG but even she seems sane in comparison to RFK Jr.
With only two Free-4-Alls left before the return of the tournaments, the Grinders take on the hottest topic in America: Jason Aldean. The country crooner wrote a song with violent lyrics and a video with violent representation. Is the video problematic? Is Jason Aldean a racist? Is this an issue that has been blown out of proportion? Violent images and lyrics are nothing new. So the question becomes, did he go to far? Will the Grinders condemn Jason Aldean? Will they support him? Will they even care?
Did we mention, Frank got a blazing new toy!? What is it, you ask? We aren't telling you here! You will have to listen to find out! Frank's new hotness! Do people still say "hotness"? I freaking hope not.
Nope. I'm not spilling my guts this week! Just go back to the Pride Never Stops episode. I'm not pouring out more of my soul until I get a movie deal!

RPGrinders EP 747 - Burning Down the Closet
Saturday Jul 01, 2023
Saturday Jul 01, 2023
The Grinders are back for the last day of Pride 2023 and the last day of Frank Week (be sure to wish him a happy birthday!) Although Frank isn't in the LGBTQ community, he is a very vocal and supportive ally! Frank is also a great friend to his two queer co-hosts, Eric who has shared his truth without fear and Break who comes out in this very episode! Coming out can be a long hard process, good friends make it easier.
The Rainbow Flag flies high above the news portion of this episode. These games might be releasing too late for Pride 2023 but they will still be around for Pride 2024! Gravity Circuit might be releasing on July 13th but it will still be playable in 2024, as well as the fall releases Dokapon Kingdom Connect and Summon Aeterna.
Break might be feeling strong with Pride but that doesn't mean the Grinders don't have reasons to complain. Crooked judges, cheating athletes, has been comedians, tone deaf spouses, and the corrupt courts playing politics with all of our lives. Break comes out just in time to watch one of his rights evaporate.
The Grinders won't let the bad news keep them down. There are plenty of things to celebrate! While the cowardly lion Break finally finds some Pride, the rest of the world celebrates Frank Day! Smoke a joint, hit a bong, eat some gummies, all in Frank's honor.
In the absence of a tournament, the Grinders have plenty of time for a Free-4-All. The topic is the pacing of video games. Are games too long? Are they paced poorly? What is the right pacing for a game? Although Pride and queerness aren't a part of the discussion, they are integral to Break Man's big reveal.
You don't have to be queer to find your own Pride. It means something different to all of us. It has a special and personal meeting for all queer people not stuck in the nightmare that is the Closet. This is the start of a new day for Break. He's finding and sharing his truth. He hopes everyone can find their truth and not be forced to hide it from the world. To all the people stuck in the closet, you aren't alone and there is help if you want it.
Happy Frank Day everyone!
A long time ago, there was a little boy that always questioned the world around him. A confusing world of binary choices, yes and no decisions. A world with no middle ground. The boy never quite felt like he fit in. Sometimes the little boy even felt more like a girl. Whenever he expressed himself outside the normal gender roles, there were those around that thought that boys should always act like boys.
The boy would never forget and would always do his best to act like a boy, even when he didn't feel like it. The boy didn't hate being a boy, at least not all of the time. He did enjoy boy things, like He-Man and the Fall Guy. He made sure to never go anywhere near girly things, except for some stuffed animals.
The boy got older but the world didn't get less confusing. He had learned there were two types of people, heterosexuals and homosexuals. He learned at home, in school, and in church the "evils" of homosexuality. The boy started to become less sure of his feelings. He knew he was supposed to like girls but he just tried to kiss a boy (it didn't go well, fyi.) He questioned himself.
Was the boy as evil as the "f-words" he had been warned about? After all, he had become a willing participant of the sexual abuse of another male tween. The boy wanted it to stop because he knew it was a sin. The boy didn't want it to stop because of how good it felt. The boy got a little older and got it to stop. Not because he wanted it to stop, because he didn't want to burn in hell.
The boy, now a teenager, starts to notice girls. He had always been curious about them and what made them different. But now he wanted to touch them and kiss them. The boy knew he had to be straight then, right? Sex with the other boy was just a passing fancy, right? He tried to push the thoughts of boys out of his head. He swore to himself that he would never "check out" another guy.
One day, the teen met a girl and wanted to spend all of his time with her. She taught the teen new things. For a while, he wasn't thinking about boys (or anyone else), she was his first kiss and his first love. But things weren't meant to be and it didn't last. With her out of his life, the old thoughts and feelings returned. The teen started feeling confused again, he liked girls not boys, but why was he dreaming of other guys? He tried to only focus on girls. He did like them. He had a lot of fun with his "first love" and saw other girls that looked like fun.
The thoughts persisted. Am I gay, the teen asked himself almost daily. He had heard the term bisexual but according to other boys, only girls were bisexual.
The teen's high school life didn't change until he met other kids that called themselves bi. We all knew the openly homosexual students, while we hid in plain sight. But the bi girls (of course they were girls) inspired him to see himself differently. Soon, the teen admitted to himself that he was bi but he knew he had to keep it a secret. The feeling of deep shame didn't leave. He left the church a few years ago, but the church never left him. He questioned why he was bi. Was it because he was molested? It felt good but it was still against his will. He clung to that theory, forgetting about childhood queerness and pretending that he didn't fantasize about sucking dick.
After high school and through college, the teen experimented when he wasn't terrified. He got one ear pierced because he knew he couldn't explain both ears pierced to him parents. He grew his hair long and started shaving his body hair. He didn't really know why he wanted to, but he knew he wanted it. The world can be cruel though, the long hair invited jokes and ridicule. He cut his hair and found himself retreating to the Closet.
He made friends in college, straight friends. After college, he got a place with his straight friends. He didn't tell them he liked guys. He hid deeper in his closet of shame and fear. He only dated girls around them. Just as he had done his entire life, he tried to be as careful with his words and mannerisms. He never wanted to appear even slightly effeminate. He feared their reactions but mostly he stayed in the closet because of his own internalized homophobia.
Now a man, he was lucky enough to meet and fall in love with a very forgiving woman. He was lucky because he hid his qeerness from her. Shame and fear, as always. Eventually, she figured it out on her own. (He wasn't cheating, she was just perceptive.) He stayed with her. The straight girl and the bi boy. Being in love with a straight girl doesn't erase his queerness. Even if he tried to pretend otherwise.
So many more things happened and so many more details but this is my story. A shortened version of my life. I wish I had the courage to come out in college but I'm here to tell all other closeted queers. it is NEVER too late to come out. You don't have to come out to anyone you dont want. It is your life and you choose who shares your journey. At 45, I'm not out to everyone but I start my journey as an out Bisexual Cis-Male. But us bis just prefer to be called bi, it doesn't always have to be sexual.
Hi, my name is Chris. I am bi.
