RPGrinders EP 712 - Night of the Living Butt-Head
Saturday Oct 29, 2022
Saturday Oct 29, 2022
The air is getting cooler. The days are getting shorter. And the RPGrinders are back with one last episode before the celebration of the holiest of holidays, Samhain!
It's once again time to celebrate the return of the dead. For one evening they will rejoin our plain of existence. The living and the dead will walk amongst each other. Some of the dead will torment the living. Some of the living will get a chance to get back that $5 that was borrowed right before the borrower died. All will celebrate the glory that is Samhain.
The only way to properly start the celebration of Samhain, is with the traditional reading of the news. The celebration only lasts for a day but by the time you recover, on the 3rd of November, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever will be available on the Xbox. Unfortunately, several games don't arrive until long after the blessed day. Wo Long: Fallen Destiny, Loop8: Summer of Gods, and another update to Fallout 4 won't arrive until next year.
It's not a widely known fact, but some of the dead only return for one night of movie binging. Television access in the afterlife is spotty, at best. With the dead in mind the Grinders have several great movie recommendations. If they are looking for a constant reminder of their own demise, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, and the legendary Night of the Living Dead! If the dead are just looking for some laughs, they may enjoy League of Super-Pets, the Rise of Gru, or the return of the stupidest teenagers in cartoon history: Beavis & Butt-Head! However, the dead should beware of movies like Morbius and the Sawyer Family Massacre. Those movies will make them wish they had stayed dead.
On Samhain, we will feast. We will dance. We will celebrate and commit ritual sacrifices! Before the fun can begin, the Grinders need to address everyone's favorite segment, the Stinkos! Frank is forced to fight one of man's oldest foes, the common cold. Break is angry about America's lack of fundamental gun laws. But not as angry as Eric is about the vile Florida politicians attacks on the Trans community. Unlike shitty "conservatives", Samhain does not discriminate!
With the worst out of the way, it is time to celebrate the greatest of all Sweetos: Samhain. Dia do los Muertos. All Saints Day. Or by which it is most commonly referred, Halloween!
What better way to celebrate Samhain than to finally choose the Scariest Game of All Time?! Sixty-four games fought valiantly but now only the top four remain! What will be the scariest game of all time? Will Isaac be able to survive the horrors unleashed by cultist alien worshipers? Will a young college student save us all from the evil Ancients? Can detective Sebastian Castellanos survive the twisted world of Ruvik? Will Amanda Ripley find her mother or end up just another victim of the xenomorphs? They are all scary but which one will make you crap your pants?
Samhain comes but once a year. The most wonderful time of the year!
How the fuck do you pronounce 'Samhain'??
Saa-wn? Sow-Wen? Sow-Unn? Sau-ihn? Sah-vin?

RPGrinders EP 709 - Drinking & Fake Driving
Saturday Oct 08, 2022
Saturday Oct 08, 2022
All Hollow's Eve draws near. The temperatures are getting brisk. The leaves are rotting and covering the ground. Tree rats are beginning to gather their nuts for the long winter haul. Little bastards are preparing their costumes to pester their neighbors for candy. And the true sign of the Haunted Holiday, the Grinders are back with round two of the tournament to determine the Scariest Game of All Time!
As usual, the Grinders start the show with the latest news. There is good news for some, like the free update coming to Soul Hackers 2 and a reasonably priced Day 1 special edition of Trinity Trigger. Unfortunately, it's not good news for everyone as Tri Ace deals with large financial losses.
For the second week in a row, the Grinders have more reviews than the local newspaper! Eric gives his reviews of couple of Disney+ Star Wars shows. Frank reviews the new Beavis and Butthead, again, and it's still glorious! And Break, FINALLY, reviews The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
It wouldn't be RPGrinders without the Stinkos. Politics is always a Stinko but Break and Frank seem particularly pissed. The closer we get to the election, the worse the ads.
As bad as the Stinkos get, the Grinders can always fall back on the Sweetos to perk them back up. For Frank, nothing could be sweeter than the feeling of buying a new game system. Meanwhile, Eric & Break celebrate the spoils of Frank's trip to Vegas.
Did we mention there was a tournament to determine the Scariest Video Game of All Time?! The Grinders word is law and whatever game wins will be officially the scariest. But what will it be? Will Chris & Jill overcome the horrors of a mansion and a town called Silent Hill? Will a camera be a powerful enough to tool to stave off the terrifying Scissor Man? Is it scarier trapped in space or locked up in school? Can a convict Outlast real demons and his internal demons? With only 3 weeks left of October, we won't have to wait long for the answers!
Thank you for listening and don't forget to wish Eric a Happy Birthday!
Dear Amphibians, please remember to hide your offspring around Grogu.

RPGinders EP 706 - The Joker: Husband and Father
Sunday Sep 11, 2022
Sunday Sep 11, 2022
On this later summer episode, the Grinders find themselves under a time crunch. There is usually enough time for news, Stinkos, and reviews; but this episode has a lot of news, drama filled Stinkos, 10+ reviews, and a brand-new tournament! Can they get it all done? Will they? They will because they must!
As the fall grows ever closer, some companies are readying themselves for the final releases of 2022. The rest of the gaming industry and the news has begun the shift to 2023 and beyond. Two of the games with the most badass names, Grimgrimoire Oncemore and Process of Elimination (see, I told you the names were badass), are getting Spring releases, while Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting the Phantom Liberty expansion.
The Stinkos cause some division between the chatroom and the hosts. Tension is completely understandable as the American people try to navigate a new reality, in which women's healthcare is now criminalized by the state. Although we don't all agree on how things should be handled, we can all agree that we wish a speedy recovery to our very own Bernie and to the wife of our favorite Freak.
As the clock ticks down, the Grinders have to work hard as they have over TEN reviews! The majority of the reviews are for Marvel and DC movies, TV shows, and even a Video game. Break spent his time binging Batman, Nightwing, and the Teen Titans. While Eric immersed himself in the MCU with Captain America, the Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Thor, and his brother Loki. And Frank joined the crew of the Milano to save the galaxy!
The Grinders are running out of time, but they have a tournament to start. They only have the rest of the episode and episode 707 to answer the Greatest question known to mankind: What is the Worst NES game ever made? Was it an 8-bit Dolorian taking Marty McFly to shitty places? Is the worst RPG ever made (Hydlide) also the worst NES game? Is Uncle Fester as bad at being a video game hero as he is at fashion? What does T & C Surf Design stand for, Trash & Crap Surf Design? Where's Waldo? He's trapped in a shit game that induces eye bleeding.
32 pieces of shit enter. Only 1 won't get flushed. We find out which 1, on episode 707! Come join us as we put a crown on a piece of shit.
Beware the Batman. He's a perv.

RPGinders EP 703 - We Review So You Don’t Have To
Saturday Aug 20, 2022
Saturday Aug 20, 2022
Friday night is back and so too are we. Back with a brand-new episode of ReviewPGrinders! As always, we start the show with Reviews followed by the latest Review Deals. Next, we discuss What We've Been Reviewing. Then we do everyone's favorite segment, Reviewos, and it's counter-point Sweereviews. Finally, we end the show with the longest Review segment ever done on ReviewPGrinders.
Our first Reviews segment is shorter than normal. We don't have many review articles, but we do have some solid release dates for upcoming games. The long running MMO Guild Wars 2 is finally coming to Steam, on August 23rd. Anno-Mutationem will be arriving on the Switch, September 1st. And Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom, comes out on November 2. However, it's not all good news, as Broken Roads has been delayed till 2023.
After Review Deals and What We've Been Reviewing, it's time for the best show segment: the Reviewos. Followed by the second-best segment the Sweereviews.
All good things must come to an end, so too must the ReviewPGrinders. Before ending the show and heading out on our usual Review Quest, we have one last segment: Reviews! There are more reviews in this episode than the Sunday newspaper. Here are only some of our reviews: Movies like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Lightyear, The Ledge, and Predators. Animated features Rise of the TMNT, Vox Machina, and Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroes. And more, there are just too many to type.
With another episode of ReviewPGrinders wrapped up and ready to go, it's time for us to go make more reviews. What we've watched? What We've Been Reviewing? Latest Reviewing Deals? Reviewos and SweeReviews? These and so many more Reviews that must be done! Don't worry, the ReviewPGrinders will be back next week. Until then, don't watch or play anything until we review it for you!
We Review food too, but you have to pay.

RPGrinders EP 702 - Tude Love
Thursday Aug 18, 2022
Thursday Aug 18, 2022
In this episode, the crew once again gets through some news, with the highlights being delays and a former Capcom developer leaving to join a mobile company. Frank reviews Primal season 1, and then the group goes over its stinkos. The Justice Dept. and Ohio politicians continue to disappoint and hurt many people, and Salman Rushdie gets attacked again. As for Sweetos, the Justice Dept. also does some good, and the Postmaster General is removed from service and hopefully the mail can stop being messed with. Free for all is about the bizarre state of HBOMax and Netflix, among also talking about who the potential FBI Informant is that gave the dirt on Trump. Be sure to stay tuned for other zany topics live on Fridays at 7 PM EST on Twitch/Youtube!

RPGinders EP 700 - RPGrinders: The RPG
Wednesday Jul 27, 2022
Wednesday Jul 27, 2022
It's been a long, fun journey but the RPGrinders finally reached level 700 of the podcasting dungeon. A trio of brave adventurers led by Frank the Ageless Wizard with a mysterious past, a long pipe, and a longer beard. Eric the Cleric is the backbone of the Grinders but he doesn't just heal, he also deals massive damage. The last member is Breakman the Bold Bumbling Warrior, he may be accident prone but he's great with a sword.
Level 700 wasn't easy. The Grinders faced waves of tough enemies. Zombies, aliens, ghost monsters, mutants, and dragon balls were only some of the more formidable opponents.
First the Grinders dealt with waves of mutants, as the TMNT Cowabunga collection was given an August release date. As they fought off the mutant attackers they were beseeched by a dragon. The mighty Dragonball the Breaker, will be bringing destruction in October. More random enemies joined the battle but they are no match for the heroes.
After clearing the waves of enemies, the heroic team stopped by a local dungeon vendor. The shop keeper haggled with them over the prices of rare Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft treasures. Unfortunately for the shop vendor, the Grinders weren't just great adventurers. They also knew how to find the best deals.
Before heading to their next battle, the heroes came across a strange and usual shop. Out of curiosity, they decided to check it out. Inside they met a sage. He imparted upon them the wisdom of #DearBreakMan. With that, they were ready to move further within the dungeon.
Ms. Marvel, Girls Last Tour, and NOPE ambushed the Grinders. Trio vs trio. Only one group would walk away. Although it was a tough fight, the Grinders used the power of teamwork to fell their attackers.
Even though they were still exhausted from their last battle, the Grinders suddenly found their selves fighting off waves of evil Stinko humans! The cops and religious zealots attacked in full force but were still defeated by the brave heroes.
Having barely survived their last fight the Grinders stopped to recharge their HP with some much-needed Sweetos. They knew that the only thing left standing between them and the next dungeon level, was the final battle.
The final battle to defeat dungeon level 700, was upon them. Only they could defeat their enemies and determine the Greatest Game Cube Game of All Time. They fought off hordes of zombies. Fled from the evil Ghost Monsters. Battled more mutants. Encountered an alien species that sucks the life from its victims. And they even defeated a cursed evil sword.
With that level conquered, what adventures will await our heroes as they journey to level 701 and beyond? Only time will tell....
Come tag along on the Grinders next adventure, every Friday 7 PM Eastern on twitch.tv/rpgrinders. Maybe we will even share the loot.
I was originally going to title this "Power Moves" but it just doesn't fit the writing.

RPGinders EP 699 - Bring Home the Bacon
Saturday Jul 16, 2022
Saturday Jul 16, 2022
This is episode 699, the last episode before the final episode of RPGrinders.... Until the following week when we do another episode! The end is not nigh. 700 won't be a beginning or an end but it will be a blast! In the meantime, enjoy this lively episode!
It wouldn't be an episode of RPGrinders if Break wasn't late because he had to fight Skype in one-on-one combat. Break keeps getting his ass whooped, so maybe he needs training? Or maybe he just uses Skype as the scapegoat to get out of doing the news? Break's tardiness can't stop the news. He can't stop Bayonetta 3 or the Sega Genesis Mini 2 from coming out this October. He can't stop Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 from coming to modern platforms, later this month. And he sure as hell can't stop companies from announcing some upcoming titles, like Kirby's Dream Buffet and Mato Anomalies.
This week Frank's reviews are spoilerific, so if you don't want to hear about season 3 of The Boys or the South Park: Post COVID Special you should stop reading now and scroll to the bottom of the page. The Boys is a well written and amazingly acted show that is only getting better every season. Of course, South Park continues to be one of the funniest shows ever made. But if you don't like spoilers, Eric gives his review of the latest Thor movie. How does it stack up to the critically well received third Thor movie?
If you don't listen to this show to laugh and have fun, maybe you listen in anger waiting impatiently for your favorite segment: the Stinko of the Week. With the state of affairs in America, abortion continues to be the main topic. The Grinders all have their own personal feelings about the new laws but are in total agreement, the government has no business in our bodies. And, as usual, Democrats and Republicans alike also earn their ire.
The tournament closes out this episode. Moving the Grinders one more round closer to determining the Greatest Gamecube Game of All Time! Two Resident Evils are still on the list, will either make it to next week? Which is the better sequel, Super Monkey Ball 2 or Soul Calibur 2 (I spelled it right this time!)? Are sequels like Metroid Prime 2 and X-men Legends 2 better than the originals? Can cartoon Link save cartoon Zelda and return to compete next week? Will Baby Mario and Baby Luigi reek as much havoc on the tournament bracket as the do on the racetrack? Can Mario water blast his way to innocence and another week on the bracket? Will the Eternal Darkness screw up the brackets as badly as it can screw with your head? On episode 700, we will declare a winner!
All these and so much more. We hope this wets-your-appetite for episode 700. If not, then maybe bacon will. When you think of bacon, think of episode 700. Mmmm bacon.
Did I mention bacon? Cause bacon!
If you scrolled all the way to the bottom then thanks and please pray with me: In Kevin Bacon's name we pray. Amen.

RPGinders EP 696 - The Supreme Court Can Suck It!
Friday Jun 24, 2022
Friday Jun 24, 2022
It's the officially the first Friday of summer and the Grinders couldn't be hotter. By hot, I mean angry. Disgusted by the news that pregnant women are now property of the state government. Unfortunately, this is only the beginning of the horrors to come.
The Supreme Court has decided that state governments now have control over the choices a pregnant woman is able to make. The government has decided women don't have the right to bodily autonomy. Worse still, this is only the beginning! Contraceptives, LGBTQ rights, worker's rights, and interracial marriage are all on the agenda. Today was a horrible blow to women and this is only the beginning.
Republicans and Democrats have failed the United States of America and its people.
Lest we forget that this is a gaming podcast, the Grinders were still able to talk about some happier things, like JRPG news and what they have been playing. Frank was even able to give a review of the horror movie Revealer.
There wasn't a lot of news but there were some upcoming release dates. After weeks of game delay news, it was refreshing to have some actual release dates. Games like Dusk Diver 2 and Tyrant's Blessing will be out in August, and Rune Factory 5 will be hitting Steam in July. If you live in Japan, the offline version of Dragon Quest X will also be released this year.
In these trying times it's great to have video games. To help us destress from a situation that feels beyond hope. With the world collapsing around us, we all need to be aware of our own emotional and mental states. No matter how hopeless it may feel. We must never stop fighting for what is right. Just don't forget that your own health matters too.
How many more nails will be hammered into the coffin of Democracy before we lose it forever?

RPGinders EP 693 - Peach Trees
Saturday Jun 04, 2022
Saturday Jun 04, 2022
On the 1st Friday, of June, the Grinders are back and rowdier than ever! The Grinders are so wound up that even the chatters get help getting wild. Why is there so much energy in today's episode? Is it Republicans, Democrats, gun violence, police, mental health, or maybe all of them combined?!
The 2nd Amendment is a big part of this episode. The Grinders are pro-gun but agree that not everyone is fit to own one. What is causing the spike in gun violence? Why is the United States ranked so high in gun violence? What can be done to end the mass shootings? Well America ever start taking mental health issues seriously? What role do the police play? Are the police doing more harm than good?
Only 3 Stinkos are in this energized episode. Although there aren't many, they are bad enough to cause concern. Of course, guns and cops are two of the topics but the Ohio GOP is not to be outdone. They are turning Ohio into the next Texas or Florida. They want human rights and freedoms in their control.
By the 4th paragraph, it sounds like the whole episode is negative. So it's time to focus on the happier parts of the show. Although Frank wants to wait until they release the second part of the forth season of Stranger Things. He won't say much but he gives it high recommendations.
Back to talking about the 5-0. JK! Today's news features a lot of release dates and the retirement of heavy hitter in Japanese RPGs. Shinji Hashimoto, the Brand Manager of the legendary Final Fantasy series, has retired of Squenix.
Well over 6 hundred ninety episodes and still going strong. The seven hundredth episode is just around the corner. We have no plans of slacking off between now and then. We won't be slowing down either!
And on the 7th day, God rested...
and Frank retired.
These colors don't run (into schools with active shooters).

RPGinders EP 690 - Star Thingy
Saturday May 14, 2022
Saturday May 14, 2022
The RPGrinders are back for another episode but they aren't the only things returning. The Greatest of All Time Tournament is back! This time the Grinders will be picking the definitive Playstation 2 JRPG. Of course, the Grinders have a big show before they can even get to the tournament.
As always, the Grinders start with the latest JRPG news. Games like Sword of the Vagrant and Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds get release dates. Starfield is getting delayed. Gotham Knights is canceled for the last gen consoles. But nothing is more embarrassing than what happened to Squenix latest failure, Babylon's Fall.
It wouldn't be RPGrinders without Stinkos. This episodes Stinkos reek. The repugnant behavior of the ruling class and their treatment of women is just the beginning. No government (state or federal) should ever have the right to tell a woman what she can or can't do with her own internal organs. Once they have stripped millions of American women of the right to choose, they will start giving over more and more rights to states. They believe the government should decide what we are and what we can do with our lives and bodies. Freedom is being crushed by the tyranny of the ruling class.
The Grinders always love to end a show with a bang and this episode is no different as it features the return of the Greatest of All Time Tournament! This time the RPGrinders will decide once and for all what was the greatest Playstation 2 RPG! Is Persona 4 a better sequel than Disgaea 2? Is the Odin Sphere a better ARPG than the original Kingdom Hearts? Will Yuna and Tidus teen romance topple Laharl's quest to claim his father's throne? Will Jaster Rogue save the galaxy? Will Adol Christin survive his only Playstation 2 adventure?
Next week the remaining 16 RPGs will fight to the death to be one of the surviving 8!
Did we mention that Frank watched a movie about a woman fucking a car?
