RPGrinders EP 829 - RIP to the Prince of Darkness

The Grinders are back. WOOH! And we are ready to celebrate, brother. What ya gonna do when RPGrindermania runs wild on you?! The same ol' Grinders but now with more headbutts, low blows, and eye pokes than any Face could handle. WOOH!

In a surprising Face turn Break actually shows up on time to join Eric and Frank for a 3-Vs-News Hardcore Match. The Grinders challengers? The dreaded News is back. The News brought with it the announcement that the Dragon Quest soundtracks are coming to Apple Music. The next member of the News is a release date for Nicktoons and the Dice of Destiny. In a shocking Heel turn, Fate/Extra Record joins the News with a delay until next year.

After pinning the news for a 3 count, the Grinders moved on to their next matches against the Reviews. With skill and mastery of the top rope, Eric is able to dominate the spoiler free review of the Fantastic 4: First Steps. Meanwhile, Frank used his signature Sharpshooter to make the Dog Soldiers tap-out. In the squared circle, no werewolves are a match for professional wrasslers. Werewolves can't SMEEEEEELLLLL what Frank is cooking. 

The next match for the Grinders is against their greatest rival, the Stinkoes. It's a heated rivalry. Every fight ends in injuries or worse. Some former Grinders have never been heard from since. With the death of a music legend, the loss of an entire television network, and the funding cuts to the REAL news media, the Stinkoes are looking increasingly unbeatable. But if the Grinders want to be the man, they will have to beat the man. The Stinkoes are the man.

The Stinkoes are tough, but the Grinders have their own tag partners to help them even the score. The Sweetoes are back and they will always have the Grinder's backs. No Ladder Match is a match for the return of a favorite tv show or the death of a man who tainted wrestling for decades. Apparently, he didn't say his prayers or eat his vegetables.

With only one opponent left, the Grinders face off against their greatest challenge, the Panic Room. The only thing standing between the Grinders and shiny new belts. The ultimate slobberknocker, between 1st Amendment rights or going to jail. Can the Grinders triumph and hoist the gold they will soon wear around their waists? Or will the Grinders just have to get ready to suck it?

One thing is for sure; everyone just made it onto Eric's List. WOOH!

RPGrinders EP 828 - Superman's Banana Addiction

In this Banana filled episode of RPGrinders this is much banana talk about rpgs in the news section. Unfortunately no Banana RPGs. Later, Frank and Eric have a review for Superman, who definitely loves bananas. Frank also reviews Marvel's What If? season 2's first episode, The Gorge, which probably has bananas, and Megan 2.0 which probably doesn't. Then the crew gets into the Mushy bananas part of the show, the Stinkos of the Week. More Gender-affirming care bans, and the continued unraveling of democracy. Very rotten bananas. In fact, the crew gets so hung up on crappy bananas, there is little room for Sweetos other than Frank having an amazing Banana Vacation. but even that leaves no time for Panic Zone this wekk. RPGrinders EP 826 - Pride Never Dies

The Grinders are back and just in time for Pride month. What's that you say? "But Pride month is over." Well, bitch, it's ALWAYS Pride month for the LGBTQ+ community! As proud as I am to finally start stepping out into the larger community, I'm also proud to host a show with two of best Podcasters to put on a mic.

Another thing that fills me with Pride is always showing up just in time to miss the news. Except this episode, in which I was forced to read every news story! The grueling agony. The minutes of my life I will never get back. I can't believe that they forced me to read both stories! 

I may have my Pride but we all have our Stinkos. Some of the worst horrors of the week, from mundane to catastrophic. Unfortunately, our country is in total decline. In less than 6 months, Trump and the corrupt justices have turned America into a fascist nation. As we watch human rights be trampled, we must all hold strong to whatever gives us Pride. As things get worse, we can't let kill what makes us strong.

Even though most of us are watching our rights disappear. One group seems to be getting more laws created in their favor, the gun lobby. That's right, the Grinders once again address the issue of gun violence in the United States. Not speaking for anyone else but I have no Pride in our cultural love of guns.

We never want to end the show on a sour note. So, the Grinders have not one, but two brand-new Driver's Seats! Both DSs are based around getting older. How do the Grinders feel about Birthday parties and going gray? The Pride of the middle aged as we head towards just being old. 

They can take away everything, but they can never change what is in our hearts. We must hold on tight to our Pride and our beliefs in right and wrong. There is no question that this country has gone very wrong. Don't let the country or the villains corrupt or sway you away from what is right. RPGrinders EP 825 - Switch 2 Fun

In this episode of RPGrinders, the crew gets through some chunky news, but at least afterwards there is a shorter show. They really just want to play more Mario Kart World. With Stinkos centering around the collapse of democracy, the only way to balance it out is with Sweetos like the fun we are all having with our new and old-but-new to them entertainment. It's unofficially Summertime, in America. The perfect time to go inside, crank up the AC sit on your ass, and play video games all night long. Keep it to the night though because these long hot days are going to be wasted working and fighting fascism. 

All independent podcasts must take a stand. As the sources to real news are being cut off, we will have to speak louder.

The RPGrinders have never been ones to shy away from politics but we do need to make the time to talk gaming. It's important to everyone's mental health to have some form of release and have friends to communicate. As scary as things are we all need a mental distraction now and then. 

Let us Grinders ease your minds for just a short time. 

In years past, this is the time of year we would be celebrating E3 and tons of gaming announcements. Although E3 may be as dead as democracy, here in the US, the game companies still use this time of the year to make some of their biggest announcements. Just to name a few: Final Fantasy Tactics returns again, a new Blood Stained has been announced for 2026, and the Dragon Quest 1 & 2 remake is now coming to the Switch 2. 

If a long day of fighting against tyranny gets too exhausting to even feel like gaming, let the Grinders pick which movie to veg. The newest instalment of the Final Destination series has been getting a lot of hype, but only Frank can tell you if it's truly worth the money. The biggest movie in the world, for about a week, was Jack Black starring Minecraft movie, but only Eric knows if it deserved to be #1. For the streaming crowd, the Miles Morales focused Across the Spiderverse is the middle part of a trilogy, but only BM knows if they should have stopped after the first movie. 

As the usual, the Grinders have a ton of Stinkos but they do seem to be getting worse as this administration gains power and ignored our laws. Entire families are being disappeared into the night under the FALSE claims of gang activity. Rubber bullets are being shot at the media and PEACEFUL protestors. Women in anti-abortion states are now at an even greater risk of losing their lives as they are now without Federal protection. Cis gender women are being increasingly targeted for harassment and violence by not looking feminine enough to the eyes of the bigots. Trans men are being forced to use women's restrooms and are being subjected to violence and humiliation. This is NOT the kind of country in which I want to live!

 

Breath in. Breath out. Deep breaths. No more talk about the fall of freedom in America. We just wish everyone be safe! Now let's end this on a positive note.

It's not all bad news for the Grinders as we all have new toys to enjoy. Frank and Eric were each able to get the Switch 2 on launch. We hope that everyone else who wanted a Switch 2 was able to get one. While a lot of gamers are enjoying a brand-new system, only Break is enjoying his brand-old new video game systems.
